Paper Egg Campaign

Since it started in 2000, the Easter Seals Paper Egg campaign has raised millions of dollars for Easter Seals programs and services across Canada. Store clerks at participating retailers get in the spirit by selling Paper Eggs for $2. If you buy an egg in a store you write your name on the egg and then store clerks post the eggs on the store walls. Schools, hospitals and other organizations also get involved. In 2009, $838,671 was raised for Easter Seals programs and services, such as Easter Seals camp, which serve the disability community. Be sure to visit the participating retailers if you would like to sign your name to an egg (March 8 – April 4, 2010)

Paper(less) Eggs!

We’re going online to sell as many eggs as possible to give active living and mobility opportunities to as many kids, youth and adults as possible.

The Cause

One of our most famous active living programs is our Easter Seals Camp programs. They are once in a lifetime experiences for kids and youth with disabilities. Campers learn about themselves and their potential in a safe and fun environment where the focus is on abilities, not disabilities. Camp councilors support them through challenging activities such as the climbing wall, high ropes course, multi-day hikes, tie-dying, water polo, canoeing, swimming, sailing, wheelchair basketball, water balloon wars, kangaroo court and leadership training.

Easter Seals also provides specialized mobility and access equipment such as mobility aids, assistive technology, adaptive computers, augmentative communication devices and adaptations to homes and vehicles for wheelchair accessibility.
